EXCITING NEWS, A BOOK UPDATE & A THANK YOU
TODAY, before I begin…
I just want to say a big ol’ thank you to everyone who commented on, shared or contacted me about Friday’s post.
To be honest I’ve been a little overwhelmed by all the kind, lovely comments. However you should all know they came at a time when I absolutely needed them so thank you so much.
You made a sad lady a lot happier. And a few days on, I’m still so glad I didn’t send an angry email in response! *smiles*
Anyhow, moving on and on a much brighter note, I thought I’d give you all an update as to what I’m up to and share some exciting news. What can I say, I’m a busy blogging bee at the moment.
Next week sees me do my first ever professional presentation to an auditorium of people, talking about my blogging journey and how it has changed my career.
And I guess, also, my life!
I did a little presentation a while ago which will hopefully stand me in good stead. But this folks, is a bit of a biggie.
I’m very honoured (and more than a little nervous!) to be speaking at Connected Business 2015 – Barnsley’s largest business conference where I’ll be sharing the stage with some great speakers including Richard Dennys of Tech City and founder of the Digital Business Academy and Bill Bottomley of Lifetime Financial Management.
If you’re in my neck of the woods and like the sound of learning more about how the digital world can improve your business, then please do come along and cheer me on. It sounds like it’s going to be a cracking day and what’s more it’s free to attend too! Just make sure you register.
And finally, a book update! Da, da, daaaa…
Ok, so some of you may recall that I signed my first publishing contract a couple of months ago and I am now delighted to be able to tell you all a little more about it.
My first book, will be published by the independent publisher, The Writing Hall and will be out next summer.
And will be all about….blogging! But, with a bit of a twist, naturally.
I can’t say much more than that for now, but I can tell you my aim is to make it as inspirational as possible. And that I am absolutely beyond excited to get cracking. Over the moon in fact!
I could never have imagined over five years ago when I first started to dabble with blogging, how much my life would change because of it.
I initially started blogging because I’d just made the leap to go freelance and had no work to fill my time. So I thought what the ‘eck, it can’t hurt to write a few blog posts.
Soon however, I began to see first hand the many benefits of blogging.
I began to attract new clients and work (so much so that just six months after going freelancing I had more work than I could almost cope with!) and more importantly, I started to gain a small but loyal readership.
That led me to start Pouting In Heels over three and half years ago. And since then, well bar a few hiccups along the way, I’ve never really looked back.
I’ve made many mistakes, I’ve learnt a humungous amount along the way (and still am learning) and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with blogging.
So I just cannot wait to tell you all so much more about it, in a book that will hopefully inspire the pants off anyone who reads it!
Because that folks is what I’m aiming for. No pressure whatsoever huh?
I do hope you’ll stick with me for the journey. For a woman who has always dreamt of having a book published, it really is a dream come true.
Also, between you and I, this isn’t the only book I’m planning and discussing with my lovely publisher. No, no, no! We’ve got so many amazing ideas up our sleeves.
But for now, let’s just take one step at a time.
Oh my giddy aunt.
With love,
Kate
