Is It Time To Spend Some Time With The Girls? I Have The Suggestions…

Being a mum is an amazing journey to embark on, but it is one that can be pretty thankless at times. You start your day, you do the school run, take care of the baby, work possibly, keep your house and make it a home, the list of things on a mothers to do list is never ending, am I right?

Often to help get you through the tough days, you have a tribe that you can rely on. Perhaps it is a few of the mums at the school gates, a group of work colleagues or people you have met locally on Instagram, or maybe even a group of friends you have had since your uni or school days. These are the people that lift you up when times are tough, and you are thankful for that. But sometimes, we need a little extra time with our closest friends, and we all deserve some mummy time off.

A cheeky weekend away giving the duties to Daddy for a change can often be just the tonic, but what should you do? I thought I would suggest a few options and cities to consider that could motivate you to finally book in some time with your tribe.

Bristol

Bristol is a bustling city in the South-west of England, and is definitely one to consider for the future. It has a prosperous maritime history, with the harbourside port being a cultural hub for any history buffs amongst you.

However, with a bustling bar and restaurant scene, and even things like go karting in Bristol there really is more than meets the eye. It could be the ideal city to enjoy some time with your friends, and even if you just book into a fancy hotel, it could be the perfect place to relax.

The Lake District

Perhaps you like the idea of a quaint and more quiet location, and The Lake District in the North of England could be right up your street. Rent yourself a cottage or log cabin for the weekend, go out on walks and enjoy the fresh air, and then retire back to your accommodation with your favourite foods and a few glasses of wine. Giving you all a chance to relax and feel refreshed ready to take on the routine of life once more.

Manchester

Manchester is a city in the North of England, and really does have a lot going for it in terms of a girly weekend away. Perhaps booking into one of the many classy hotels such as The Midland or The Raddison is a good place to start. Both with award-winning spas on sight. Then you have the amazing restaurants and bars, areas to explore such as The Northern Quarter or Spinningfields. Enjoying a cocktail or two from the heights of Cloud 23 bar in the Hilton. It could be the ultimate city break away and just what you and your girls need.

London

Maybe a trip to the capital of England is on the cards, and it could definitely be the ultimate girls weekend away. Not only do you have all of the sights to enjoy such as Buckingham Palace of the Houses of Parliament, but you also have fun things you can do such as taking in the skyline on the London eye or getting to the top of The shard.

London, as you can imagine, has a bustling nightlife, with many Michelin starred restaurants if that is your thing. There really is something for everyone in the capital, and it could definitely be the ideal destination to choose.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh always surprises people. You only have to read reviews online or watch YouTube videos to see that. With its majestic stress, the castle, and also going at the time of the year when the Edinburgh Fringe festival is on, there could be a lot to offer in this city.

While it may be up north in Scotland, it is easily accessible by train and plane, so wherever you are in the country, you are sure to be able to get there in good time. A boutique hotel, or even taking advantage of Airbnb’s could be the right route to take.

Llandudno

Finally, we couldn’t share some locations without thinking about a place in Wales, and Llandudno in North Wales could be the ideal location for your girls weekend away. A beach, climbing a mountain by cable car, and even just wondering around the shops and enjoying the sea air, it is definitely a more relaxing spot to enjoy.

I hope that this has you inspired with some of the locations you would consider if it is time for a weekend away with the girls.
