DREAMING OF MY DREAM BATHROOM
OUR bathroom currently has an eighties vibe.
It’s old fashioned, it’s pink (yes, really) and thankfully it’s at least functional. But besides the huge bath we have which is wonderful (the previous owner was a very tall man!) there’s not much else I can say to sing its praises, try as I might.
Truth be told, it’s desperate to be redone. All of it. From scratch.
But with so many other jobs left still to do on our project house, the reality is that it’s not going to happen for a good few months yet.
After all, if we’re going to do it, best to do it right, huh?
However that doesn’t mean that I can’t plan ahead or start dreaming of my ideal dream bathroom, for us as a family. And so over the past few months I’ve been doing exactly that.
I’m sure it’s a dead cert of a sign that I’m getting older, but honestly these days, one of my favourite things to do is to look at inspiring pictures of bathrooms and to admire bathroom suites!
Which may not sound very exciting to you, but trust me, when you’ve lived with an old bathroom for a few years, a white contemporary and stylish bathroom becomes the stuff dreams are made of!
So what am I thinking?
Well, now we’re used to a gigantic bath, frankly nothing else will do. What can I say, I’m a gal who likes to soak in the tub. So I’m looking for a large, fabulous stand alone bath.
And a shower. A separate stand alone shower! (Nope we don’t have one of those in our house currently.) So something gorgeous with giant glass walls and all the mod cons.
I’m also trying to get the husband used to the idea of twin sinks and I see subway tiles (a nod to our 1920s house) in a a splash of emerald green or marble grey and lots and lots of orchids and candles!
In my head – and with a little help from Pinterest – it’s all coming together. Now I just need to wait a little longer for it to become reality.
Patience Kate, patience…
What does or would you dream bathroom look like?!
