31 WEEKS PREGNANCY UPDATE
IT doesn’t seem two minutes since my last update, sure a sign as any I think that the weeks are flying by!
I’m now in the thirty weeks zone which means in just over two months – all being well – our little chap will be with us. A reality that is certainly beginning to hit home as Jamie and I carry on preparing for his impending arrival and getting as organised as we can.
Oh boy, oh boy!
Here’s how I’m getting on at the moment…
How far along?
31 weeks. Baby is now the size of a pineapple (I do love how they compare the baby’s growth to fruit, don’t you?! *winks*) and there’s no doubt about it, the bump is getting big!
Days until due date?
62! (Blinkin’ ‘eck!)
Weight change?
I don’t ‘do’ scales so I’ve got no idea but I’m certainly getting rounder and bigger.
Stretchmarks?
Just a few very slight ones which I think are the same ones from when I was pregnant with Elsie (just a little redder in places.) All in all, I’m pretty chuffed that so far, my bump is looking relatively mark free and super soft. (Which shouldn’t be a surprise considering all the lotions and potions I’m using!)
Cravings?
Nothing of note so I’m thinking perhaps my cravings may have disappeared completely now but I could (and do) eat all day long! I’m forever famished.
Symptoms?
A little back pain still and lots and lots of heartburn! But besides that, I’m feeling great if a little tired some days.
Sleep?
Is absolutely dreadful at the moment. I’m really struggling to nod off when it’s bedtime as my mind is constantly whirling with thoughts and worries and then when I do get to sleep, I’m having the most awful dreams! (Which from what I remember is definitely a third trimester thing, as I had exactly the same with Elsie when I was heavily pregnant.) Add to that umpteen trips to the toilet in the wee hours, and well it’s safe to say I’m pretty shattered right now.
Movement?
Lots of movement from my boy still, in fact sometimes he’s so active it actually hurts! (Do you know what I mean Mamas?!). His most active time is still about 9.30pm onwards but he’s often awake and wiggling about.
Belly button – in or out?
Most definitely out now!
Wedding rings – on or off?
Still on. Hurrah!
Best moment this week?
Seeing and sharing the photos from my maternity shoot! It’s safe to say I’m absolutely thrilled with them all! I’m so glad I decided to capture this pregnancy with my friend Helen from Masque Photography. (If you fancy a look, you can see some from our milk bath bit of the shoot here!)
Best style moment this week?
I’ve been wearing to death my favourite pair of maternity jeans, these incredible black skinnies from Jojo Maman Beebe which I’ll be reviewing soon as the fit is amazing! And teaming them with a couple of new vintage pieces including a chunky pink cardigan and floral blouse.
Worst moment this week?
I actually cannot think of one! I’m so happy and feeling so grateful at the moment, truth be told I’m a lucky woman.
Miss anything?
Yes, alcohol! It’s my birthday next week so I’m definitely going to miss my usual cocktail splurge. Will just have to settle for cranberry juice in a cosmopolitan glass instead, but let’s face it, it’s just not the same.
Looking forward to?
The little man arriving! Now I’m on the final leg it’s all becoming very real, which is a little daunting but equally so exciting.
Our nursery is taking shape now and I’m trying to get as organised as I can, buying and washing his lovely clothes. I also cannot wait to use our new pram which is this amazing new Wow travel system from Cosatto that I absolutely adore! (Set to hit the shops next month so mums to be, check it out!)
Mood?
Happy, excited and a little nervous too. I’ve got nine weeks (or so!) to go and I’m determined to enjoy them as much as I possibly can.
PSST! WANT TO READ MORE ABOUT MY PREGNANCY?
Just a little reminder that I now write a weekly column forBabyCentre about my pregnancy.
Last week I wrote about my tips to get the most from a bump shoot and you can catch all my older posts here too.
Such a fabulous post and the pictures are amazing! I didn’t think I wanted a maternity shoot but you may have just changed my mind.
I know what you mean about missing alcohol. We went out on a date night last Friday and I had a virgin cocktail. It was so bitter-sweet that I decided to just have a coke and not even pretend it was a cocktail!
So excited to know you’re on the final leg of your pregnancy journey!!!
Wooo! Then my work here is done lady. Had bump shoots both times and so, so glad I did. And yes, lovely booze…oh how I miss it. When baby is here, I’m going to treat myself to the largest cosmopolitan EVER! ;-) x
Your photos are amazing!
Thanks so much Jenny! Helen did a wonderful job.
Aww reading this makes me a little broody, it’s so exciting!
