Sweet Dreams Are Made Of A Sweet Bedroom

You might have noticed I recently reviewed a fantastic new option for parents who were struggling to sleep.

While this product was definitely beneficial, it’s important to know that sleep isn’t just about the mattress that you snuggle up on. If you want the best night of sleep of your life, you need to make sure that all the pieces fit into place to create a bedroom made for the sweetest dreams.

Definitely make sure that you start with the mattress and find the one that’s right for you. Memory foam isn’t the best option for everyone. Some people will benefit far more from a firmer bed as it will provide a higher level of back support. Others love sinking into a soft mattress that feels like a marshmallow. Once you have found the mattress of your dreams, move on to the rest of the room.

Keeping Warm And Cosy

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night because you are freezing cold? Perhaps your partner is using the duvet like a cocoon or maybe getting a budget duvet wasn’t the best option. Either way, a cold room is one of the main reasons why people tend to get a poor night of sleep. You wake up shivering and even when you get warm, you can’t get back to sleep. You might just decide to put the heating on, but why not go one step further?

In the Victorian era, it was common to have a fireplace in your room. Now, that trend is back with wood heaters and, as you will find out, these can be positioned in front of your bed and will heat up the room beautifully. You can put it on while you’re settling down and turn it off as your eyes drift close. It’s guaranteed to make the room warm and toasty.

As well as this, you should make sure that you have a summer and a winter duvet. A winter duvet is thicker and will keep you like a snug bug in a rug.

Turn It Off

You do need to think about the level of light that is intruding into your room. You’ll get the best night’s sleep by dealing with light pollution and keeping your room pitch black if possible. You can do this by using blackout blinds, and the clue really is in the name here. Blackout blinds will cover your windows completely, and they aren’t just for rock and roll stars with hangovers. They can be just what a sleepy mum needs at the end of a long day.

Take things one step further and invest in electronic blinds that will open and close automatically for the next level of bedroom comfort.

Of course, it’s not just about getting rid of the light. When we say turn it off, we’re also talking about the tech. Electromagnetic waves have been shown to disrupt sleep patterns. So, if you want to get the best night of sleep possible, do make sure that you are keep levels of tech low in your bedroom.

Use this advice, and you’ll make sure your bedroom is a place for sweet dreams.
