SPONSORED / HOLIDAY INSPIRATION FOR GORGEOUS SUFFOLK

We have some super stunning places in the UK, that are just perfect for a holiday or short break.

Being from the North, I’m often a little biased about this end of the country, but even I can’t fail to admit that the rest of the country has some areas of real beauty. Take gorgeous Suffolk for instance. Famous for it’s natural beauty and incredible coastline, it’s an ideal holiday destination which appeals to foodies, artists, writers and families alike.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration, here are some places to stay and visit, to wet your appetite for this scenic east coast county.

WHAT TO SEE

There are over 50 attractions in this region, so plenty to keep you busy. But here is my pick of the best.

AFRICA ALIVE

A great day out for families or animal lovers, Africa Alive is set in 100 acres of stunning Suffolk countryside and enables you explore the sights and sounds of Africa discovering lions, giraffes, meerkats, hunting dogs and many more animals from the African continent.

SUFFOLK HERITAGE FOOD TOURS

If you’re a foodie, this will be right up you street as this tour enables you to explore the local tastes and heritage of Suffolk. This authentic local foodie and drink tour will give you a unique chance to see behind the scenes and gain access to an array of local produce by visiting growers, artisan producers and speciality retailers.

SOUTHWOLD PIER

For fresh sea air and lots of fun, you can’t beat Southwold Pier with it’s breathtaking views, family friendly attractions and beautiful shops. Plus, young and old alike will love it!

WHERE TO STAY

HEART OF SUFFOLK

If you want to get a real feel for the county, then you need to get to the heart of it! Made up of beautiful villages and quaint towns, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning accommodation in the Heart of Suffolk from modern apartments to cosy English cottages. However, personally I love the sound of this stunning property, a converted windmill! Oh my days!

WOODBRIDGE

This area is incredibly popular with tourists and for very good reason, it’s stunning. Woodbridge is a historic riverside town, just nine miles from the sea and offers old world charm as well as the friendliest of pubs and a fine selection of antique shops.

There are so many gorgeous cottages to stay in, in this area. But for a family like mine, this Moat Cottage is the one that would appeal to me as it’s near the coast but also close to a castle, which I know my two children would love!

WAVENEY VALLEY

The Waveney Valley is known as the ‘Gateway to the Norfolk Broads’, part of the Broads National Park, which is famous for it’s waterways, fens, marshes, woodland and open countryside and offers something for everyone – from relaxing riverside walks to pretty market town, skydiving to visiting camels!

There’s a charming selection of accommodation available to suit everyone’s needs, but for me, this ‘cottage’ ticks every single box. And if I didn’t have children, well I’d most definitely be opting to stay in a shepherd’s hut.

With such incredible accommodation and attractions on offer, who needs to go abroad when we have so much history, charm and beauty within our own country?

Suffolk, I cannot wait to come and visit.
