BEDROOM / OFFICE HOME DECOR TIPS YOU’RE GUARANTEED TO LOVE

When your bedroom is also your home office, the way you design the space is important. It is important that your space have what you need to get work done. Your bedroom should also have what you need to get a restful night of sleep. The space should be relaxing and utilitarian, too. These design tips should help you create a space that allows you relax at night and get work done during the day.

Include ambient lighting

Your office bedroom needs to have lighting that helps you get work done and lets you relax. Ambient lighting includes task lights that helps you work efficiently during the day and subtle lights that turn an office into a relaxing oasis at night. By adding solar string lights, you can turn off the task lights at night and enjoy your time under the faux stars. String lights turn your bedroom into a bedroom and take away that office feeling.

Use dividers

If your desk constantly beckons you, then it might be time to add a divider or two. When it is time to stop working, you can block your desk from your field of vision. Dividers that use flowing fabric or have beautiful paint techniques can reduce the look of an office. If the divider starts to remind you of your desk, add a second one somewhere else in the room to create balance.

Take in natural light

If you have ever worked in an actual office, you know that they rarely have natural light. Most offices rely on fluorescents or LEDs. To turn your bedroom office into a comfortable space, rely on as much natural light as you can. Put your desk near the window and use window treatments that let the sunlight in. Open the window when the weather is pleasant and you will find yourself wanting to go to work each day.

Create an oasis

Your desk and your bed should become places you love. The two spaces to do not have match. You might love a minimalist desk space with clean lines and no clutter, but a bohemian bed filled with colorful pillows and blankets. Your office space has a function and your bed space should, too. Look at pictures of home offices and bedrooms and fill your spaces with styles you love. If the styles are incredibly different, you can separate them with a neutral divider or two.

Go green

Since you will be working and sleeping in the same space, add plants and flowers. Treating yourself to bouquets of fresh flowers can bring colour and joy into your room. Having house plants helps keep the air fresh. If you do not have a green thumb, try adding some succulents to your bedroom office as it is easy to keep them alive.

Choose colours you love

Paint your walls in colours you love. If you want a room with black walls, paint them black. You can even paint each wall a different colour! When you feel like changing the paint, change the paint. Make your room a space you love and you might not ever want to leave.
