FIRST IMPRESSIONS: COSATTO WOW TRAVEL SYSTEM

I DIDN’T think it would be possible to fall in love with a pram.

But such is motherhood. Always full of surprises!

At 36 weeks pregnant, I am now weeks or perhaps even days away from welcoming our much wanted baby boy into the world, so am all kinds of busy sorting out final preparations for his arrival.

And thankfully, one major job is already ticked off the list, as we have his pram or should that be his super super ‘travel system’ all ready, set up and raring to go.

As a blogger I’ve had many wonderful things that have happened to me over the years but I think being very kindly sent this incredible WOW travel system by Cosatto is one of the best. When it arrived, it made me cry – happy hormonal tears naturally! – because it’s just so god damn beautiful.

(I told you I am in love with it!)

For those who aren’t familiar with Cosatto, they are a proud British brand who specialise in creating ‘baby stuff with personality’ and you only have to take a quick look at their amazing bright, bold and colourful designs to know they’re not wrong.

Obviously it’s a little tricky to properly review a pram without a baby to put in it (!) so whilst we wait for our little chap’s arrival, here’s a post about my first impressions instead. I promise when he’s here and I’m out of that newborn dream like haze, I’ll do a full review of it in it’s all glory and give you the full, detailed low down then.

But for now, here are my first thoughts about this incredibly stunning Cosatto travel system.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

The WOW travel system has been specially designed to be the ultimate travel system for parents, the from-birth 3 in 1.

It comes with the chassis, carrycot (for babies up to six months) parent and world facing seat unit (for six months plus) and a car seat carrier.

A matching car seat, footmuff and changing bag can also be bought separately, which we were also kindly sent.

APPEARANCE

OK, so let’s start with the obvious thing first, this travel system is stunning!

There are a whole host of gorgeous WOW designs to choose from but after much deliberation, I opted for the bright, colourful and quite frankly unmissable ‘Spectroluxe’ design which as I keep mentioning, I love!

As our baby boy is due to arrive next month (all being well) I wanted something cheerful and bold as let’s face it January can be well, a little gloomy and this design fits the bill perfectly.

I adore the colours and pattern and love how they they mix two contrasting patterns beautifully – the full on colour design with a matching white interior. Just gorgeous.

I also think the pop of gold metallic on the wheel frame / chassis is genius!

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

It took Jamie and I less than an hour to take it out of the box and put it altogether before we were all having a go, whizzing the pram around the house.

Interestingly, it was that simple to put together that sometimes we both ended up questioning ourselves before laughing at how easy it actually was, as we’ve been so used to baby things being tricky to assemble over the years!

EASE OF USE

This travel system is a doddle to use. An absolute doddle! And that’s not something I say lightly.

It steers and moves effortlessly thanks to its four rubber skin all-terrain wheels (which can all be popped off quickly to be cleaned if necessary!) and is lovely and lightweight to lift over kerbs, steps etc. No heaving required here!

The brake is super easy to apply and take off and swapping over from one system to another (eg carrycot to car seat for instance) is quick and simple. It also folds down effortlessly.

The WOW system also features a whole host of cleverly thought out features to make our busy lives easier. (Thank you Cosatto!)

These include one-handed seat recline, one handed adjustable calf support, one hand release on the carrycot (so easy to remove!) a structured hood with extendable sun visor, fresh air panel and raincover.

Put it this way, it’s so easy to use, that even Elsie can use it. And she’s four. What did I tell you? A doddle indeed.

BASKET SIZE

As pram baskets go, it’s pretty generous and I love how the basket has little zipped compartments for storing essentials.  But I’ll give it a full test when the baby is here and I take a trip to the shops!

LITTLE EXTRAS

In the grand scheme of things, I guess when it comes to a pram or travel system, little details might not matter to some people.

But for me, it’s the little things which combined with everything else this system offers, makes the WOW feel so special.

Things like the comfy leatherette handlebar that makes pushing the pram a joy.

The little design details like the tags ‘dream big’ and my personal favourite (on the matching car seat) ‘the adventure begins’ that sum up parenting beautifully and the fact that the comfortable, beautiful upholstery on the seat itself can be easily removed to be washed.

THE COST

The WOW travel system retails for £599.95 which in my opinion is really good value especially considering what you get for your money and how absolutely wonderful it is in so many ways.  (Car seat, foot muff and changing bag are additional.)

Yes there are cheaper products on the market, but if you want a stunning, cleverly designed travel system which will take your precious one from birth to four years, then this may just be the one for you.

Personally speaking, it’s certainly WOW-ed us so far.

Disclaimer – This travel system was kindly sent to us by Cosatto however as always all opinions and views are my own.
