BOOK UPDATE / NEW TITLE! (& #WEARELOVEABLE )

I’m as giddy as a kipper to share this post with you today. So giddy in fact, that I’m smiling as I type.

Some of you may remember that a short while ago I made the pretty big decision of scrapping a book I’ve been working on for a considerable length of time in favour of a completely new one. As you can probably imagine, it wasn’t a decision that I took lightly, but as I’ve pointed out a few times on here over the years, there comes a time in your life when you realise that when your gut speaks, you need to listen! And so that’s what I decided to do.

Thankfully my publisher is lovely, was incredibly understanding and so here we are now, working on a new book that we’re both so excited about . After finalising plans last week, it now gives me the greatest pleasure (and goosebumps!) to reveal the new title. And here it is!…

‘A Little Pick Me Up: Shining A Light On Our Darkest Emotions’

I think it’s fair to say that I am so excited and happy to be writing this book and bringing it to you. It just feels so right, like this is the book that I’m supposed to write at this time in my life. I guess you could say it’s that gut thing again!

So what’s it about? Well my book, as you may have guessed from the title, will be an inspiring ‘pick me up’ read in which I’ll be looking at and talking about the struggles we women face in our daily lives. From body image to motherhood guilt, ageing to insecurity, I’m going to be using my own personal stories to hopefully highlight certain areas of struggle and shed a different kind of light on them.

My hope, and it is my greatest hope, is that the book will kickstart a mini movement of women learning to love and accept themselves as they are, in a world which sadly far too often encourages us and wants us to do the opposite.

This is what I’m passionate about.

It was the very reason I started this blog six years ago and it remains the main reason why I continue to share my life with you all and write as I do. It is – as trite as it may sound – a total dream come true. My book is taking me back to my blogging roots and to the very heart of what I do best.

But, that’s not all, because… I’m also inviting you guys to become a part of my book too and I gotta tell you this for me is quite possibly one of the most exciting bits of all. Because within the book there’s going to be a special chapter that will feature not my voice, but yours! A place for fabulous female voices to shine, inspire, bring comfort and change lives.

And so this is where I am now asking for your help.

For the next few months on social media, I’m going to be asking for women to tag me and answer this question using the hashtag #weareloveable:

“If you had only ONE piece of advice to give to a woman, to help her see herself as being more ‘loveable’, what would it be?”

From the advice that comes in, we’ll then choose the pieces of advice that we think will resonate the most and they will be then included within the chapter, printed and published (with permission) in my book!

I really would love as many of you as possible to get involved and take part, so keep your eyes peeled for plenty of #weareloveable updates and requests soon! (Although by all means, get in touch with me at any time, should inspiration strike before then!)

All being well, my book will be hitting the shelves around September time available in both paperback and as an e-book. There will also be a very special limited edition run of hardback copies too and all copies will be available to pre-order soon! (*squeals with excitement*)

I’ll do my best to keep you all posted as much as I can but until the next update, I’ll be knuckling down and getting on with my book!

September really isn’t so far away. Crikey, I’d best get a bloody move hadn’t I?!…

  • I’m ridiculously excited for you lovely, this is such incredible news!! And yes, you have to listen to your gut. Every time. I love the title of the book and it sounds like it’s going to be a fab read, and definitely one to recommend to my tribe of readers and followers! My piece of advice is this, and is something that I share with the women doing my Life Reboot Camp:
“Take time to really look at your flaws in the mirror, examine them in detail, from every angle, until they no longer have any power or control over you. Then you will be able to love yourself as a whole.”
Enjoy the writing process as it can be hugely cathartic.
Big love to you fab lady,
    Sophie xx

  • Well done fab title and always great to hear and tips and advice from those that have experienced things not just doctors or specialist trying to self help us. I can’t wait to read it. Way to go for following your gut too hunny. Sometimes I wish I did that more often.
