SHARE YOUR CHILD’S HOUSE RULES TO WIN £250 VOUCHERS!

IF you asked your child to make up your house rules, what would they be?!

Scary thought I know (!), but do you think you can imagine what they would come up with?

When I asked my daughter Elsie to come up with her own house rules (as above), I got quite the shock. Some of the things I was kind of expecting – like ‘eating chocolate for breakfast’! – but others, well, they’ve actually really made me think!

In fact let’s just say I’m not as stringent when it comes to tidying up her bedroom anymore.

As parents we tend to think we know everything about our kids, but my little chat with Elsie about house rules, showed me that actually we don’t.

We had such a laugh coming up with her house rules and more importantly, it was a really lovely way of finding out what is important to her in our home.

Fancy having a go yourself? Why not ask your child / children to come up with their own house rules?

To encourage you to get to know your children better whilst having some fun, the lovely team at Principality Building Society are running a very special competition across Twitter, to get us all to share our kids’ creativity.

It’s really easy to join in! All you need to do is tweet a picture of your child / children’s house rules to @PrincipalityBS with the hashtag #KidsHouseRules. (See bottom of post for full terms and conditions.)

A lucky winner will be chosen by the team and win £250 worth of John Lewis vouchers. Just imagine what you could treat your family to, with these this Summer- a playhouse, toys for outdoors etc – the mind boggles!

It’s a lovely competition and I really hope you give it a go.

Because if nothing else, it will give you a good ol’ giggle whilst helping you to learn a lot more about your child / children in the process. Which if you ask me, makes it a win, win situation all round.

For inspiration, do check out this bunch of house rules created by kids (including Elsie’s attempt!) and good luck!

With love,

Kate
