IT’S Christmas, it’s party time, so there’s only one thing for it.

It’s time to roll out the bling and make a statement.

As a real ‘magpie’ of a gal, there’s nothing I love more in the style world, than some sparkle or glitz. Particularly at this time of year when it’s sooo dark and sooo grey.

Dark days and nights demand some twinkle, do they not?

And there’s no easier way to introduce some bling into your wardrobe, I don’t think, than with a piece of statement jewellery.

I lurve statement jewellery.

It’s bold, it’s beautiful and damn right bloomin’ brilliant. Adding a piece to your outfit is the quickest way to transform a look, turning a day time look into something extra special or going from drab to well, fab, in an instant.

I was thrilled to receive a gorgeous couple of pieces from YOSA a few weeks ago –  a lovely site that offers affordable yet stunning jewellery and accessories – and so decided to wear this necklace (similar here) for  this style shoot dedicated to the transformative power of a statement piece!

Just look look at this bobby dazzler around my neck. (Please). Isn’t it a stunner?!

Here I’ve popped it over my beloved three quarter length leopard print trimmed French Connection coat that cost me a pretty penny, even in the sales, at the beginning of the year.

I umm’d and aah’d about buying this coat for weeks (!) before I took the plunge, but it’s a decision I wisely made as I’ve lost count of the compliments I’ve had for it.

Plus, every time I wear it, I feel amazing, so it was a purchase that was absolutely worth every penny.

I love how the necklace adds a big injection of glamour and yet still manages to look appropriate for a daytime setting.

Possibly a bit over the top for some of you perhaps, but hey it’s Christmas right?! And when you’re wearing (faux) fur, well…I reckon you may as well go the whole hog.

And as for that Christmas party, well a statement necklace rightly allows you to take centre stage and shine.

Here I am wearing a suitably festive dress, perfect for an evening on the town.

It’s not very forgiving (big pants are a must for this number!) but it’s a vibrant, sassy favourite of mine that I have worn and worn and worn again.

Red dress and one hell of a statement necklace?

Well, I reckon even Mrs Claus herself would be proud.
