LIFE: Looking forward to BritMums Live!

WITH the last few weeks whizzing by in a New York minute, I can hardly believe that in mere days I will be attending my first blogging conference and meeting up with some lovely blogging pals at Brit Mums Live. As the UK’s largest blogging conference, it’s safe to say that I’ve wanted to attend for a couple of years now and so, when a very kind freelancing client of

FRIDAY FIVE (KINDA): A Vlog about the book that changed my life

Now then, I am very nervous about this. Very nervous indeed. *takes a deep breath* Because for today’s post, I have decided to be daring and tackle a personal fear of mine by doing my very first Vlog! Eeek! After being inspired by the talented Zaz at Mama and More, I thought I’d get  to grips with something I’ve wanted to try out for ages and say hi to you all

LIFE: My ‘cover girl’ moment!

VERY very occasionally you get a surprise email that lands in your inbox which is so amazing, so fantastic, it is almost too good to be true. And so, it was, on a fairly typical day in December that a very untypical email arrived in my inbox and made me squeal with joy. The email was from a journalist from Essentials magazine inviting me to be on the cover (!)

STYLE: How dressing for my life brought me closer to style heaven

WHEN it comes to reinventing yourself, there is no easier way of doing so, than changing your look. LIFE: A letter to 2013

AT the end of last year, I wrote a little letter to 2012, to thank it for giving me one of the best years of my life. (You can read all about it why it was here.) I found that writing the letter was a lovely and cathartic way to reflect on the 12 months that had gone by and so as we say goodbye to one year and look

LIFE: How to be a happier person, part 2

CARRYING on from yesterday’s post, here are a few more ways to find that elusive happiness! Let go The only way to move on in life, is often just to let things go. The things we can’t control, the people who hurt us, the things that have happened in the past. Years ago, I was the world’s best at holding grudges but nowadays, I’ve realised that there’s so much more

Things I’ve loved this week…

It’s appreciation Sunday! Here’s what I’ve loved this week… 1) My first reflexology treatment – On Monday I did the unthinkable. I let someone touch my feet! Normally this would bring me out in hives (I’ve only ever had one pedicure, for my wedding and that was torture) but yet strangely it didn’t bother me one bit! The experience was fabulous and provided some much needed pregnancy relaxation. I’ll be

A new dawn, a new blog…

THOSE of you who know me already will know that I’m partial to sharing a few words and opinions, but for those of you who don’t, here’s who I am and what I intend to do with this new blog of mine… To keep it short and sweet, my name is Katie and I’m a freelancer. From the title you’ve probably already guessed that I love high heels (which is
