COMING across decent maternity wear isn’t easy.

As a heavily pregnant woman (for the second time around) this I know! You would think that in today’s world with Internet shopping and specialist boutiques and the like, that the choice out there for pregnant ladies would be incredible.

But sadly, in the main, in my experience it still appears you have to search high and low for decent, affordable and stylish pieces that help to make you feel and look fantastic. Why this is? Well your guess is as good as mine.

However, fret not my pretties, because I have found some…

I am absolutely delighted to have been working with Jojo Maman Bebe and reviewing some of their maternity clothing for you all.

With just a few weeks to go before (all being well) our baby boy arrives, I’ve purposefully left it right up until the last minute to write this review so I could really put the maternity wear I was kindly sent to the test.

I was gifted four items from the maternity range – one pair of black skinny jeans, one pair of black dungarees, a Breton striped jumper in red and navy and a navy cape / poncho. Here’s how I’ve worn them, right up until these final weeks.

And of course, the important bit, my verdict overall.

DUNGAREES & BRETON STRIPED JUMPER

I’ve always loved the look of pregnant women in dungarees so was thrilled to try these out – my first ever pair! -and I have to say, I have fallen pretty hard for this look.

I’ve worn these dungarees so many times now and still love them. They’re super easy and comfortable to wear (even now at nine months pregnant) and look great.

I love the way they help to hold up my (now huge!) bump and the little details that have been carefully thought about and added, like side buttons to make them bigger as your bump grows and flattering pockets on the bottom.

Worn with the Breton striped jumper (now in the sale!) which is soft and flattering, it’s been one of my absolute favourite casual outfits to wear during this pregnancy.

BLACK SKINNY JEANS & NAVY CAPE

Finding a pair of decent maternity jeans is tantamount in ease to finding the holy grail! So when this pair arrived, I was a little nervous that the fit might be awful or that I would hate them.

But as luck would have it, I absolutely adore them! On my figure, this pair of super skinny black jeans have fitted like an absolute dream.

Really flattering on the legs (my favourite feature) and the perfect length for me (I’m 5ft 6), the jeans feature a soft waistband to hold that precious bump in so thankfully there’s none of that jeans rolling down over your hips malarkey or need to continually pull them up. (Why all maternity jeans don’t come with over the bump support is beyond me!)

They’re truly a great pair of skinny jeans at a really affordable price so if you’re pregnant and looking for a pair of flattering jeans which you will wear time and time again, I urge you to treat yourself! (Trust me when it comes to skinny jeans I know the score!)

Here I’ve teamed the jeans with the brand’s navy knitted cape – a really fantastic piece that has helped to keep me and the bump cosy this winter and received loads of compliments. Again super flattering and easy to wear.

And for a touch of colour and bit of much needed extra warmth, I added an Aztec scarf too – a Christmas present from a lovely friend.

VERDICT

I’ve worn all four pieces from Jojo Maman Bebe continually throughout the second and third trimesters and they’ve all become essential garments in my maternity wardrobe, helping me to look stylish and feel comfortable.

The quality is fantastic, the fit of all garments has been amazing (which totally took me by surprise in all honesty!) and the price of each piece is really reasonable.

I’ve been incredibly impressed by the Jojo Maman Bebe collection. My only teeny tiny bug bear is that I wish they’d offer many more items in their maternity range, because their pieces – from my experience – are just so bloomin’ perfect.

Try them. Please. I think you’ll love them.
