On a Thursday night, just over a week ago, I hotfooted it to a VIP evening held in my hometown of Barnsley, which to be honest hardly ever happens!

I was there to admire the new fashion collections from one of the UK’s leading baby brands, Cybex.

Held at the Direct2Mum flagship store, the evening was a real treat. Not only because I got a few very rare hours out by myself (which let’s face it as a mum always feels amazing!) but because I got to look at some really super products and catch up with a couple of blogger pals too! Here I am with the lovely Petra from A Mum Reviews and the gorgeous Mother Freckle.

The latest fashion collections from Cybex really were quite something and as I admired their latest prams, pushchairs and car sears, I couldn’t quite get over how much baby products have changed since I had Elsie over five years ago! Because they really have.

Back then, I remember endless neutral designs. Just an endless sea of calming neutrals, which whilst lovely, let’s face it, can also be, well, pretty drab.

Thankfully designs in the baby world seem to have come on leaps and bounds since then as proven by the new fashion collections from Cybex. Their new designs range from being full on quirky to incredibly elegant. From prints featuring cherubs and full on ‘bling-tastic’ gold wheels to the prettiest embroidery, I was struck by how different each design or collection is from the other.

Or to put it another way, there really is something for everyone.

Much to my surprise, we were treated to a mini fashion show, in which, models showcased all of the new products before being left to browse the new products and natter at our leisure. There was even a celebrity guest too, the warm and down to earth Jennifer Metcalfe from Hollyoaks fame who happily mingled with guests and exchanged parenting ‘lack -of-sleep’ stories with us.

The new designs really are fantastic and I think most people will be struck by how unusual they are. The incredibly chic and pretty grey oriental Koi crystallized collection was simply stunning. Just look at the embroidery! I really did ‘oooo’ and ‘aaaahh’ over this one.

However in the end it was this ‘Space Rocket’ collection that rocketed it’s way (see what I did there?) into my heart.

Stars, planets and rocket ships! I mean really, what is not to adore about that?
