A FAMILY HOLIDAY TO LAKE MAGGIORE, ITALY

IT seems only right that I finish 2015 with this post. About our family holiday to Lake Maggiore in Italy. Because it was a stand out holiday for many reasons. It was our first holiday abroad, through this blog. It was the first time we’d been to Italy with Elsie. It was also the place where I had the biggest health scare of my life. It was a time for

A LITTLE TASTE OF MALTA (HERE AT HOME)

ONE of my favourite things to do… When I visit a different country or a far flung land, is to eat. Lots. To eat all the local delicacies, to feast on new dishes, to try out new tasty morsels. Yes folks, I am a foodie. And a rather adventurous one too. So when I was kindly sent a food hamper full of treats as part of Expedia’s World On A Plate

A FESTIVE NIGHT AWAY AT THE ROYAL YORK HOTEL

THE Royal York Hotel took my breath away. And that’s not something I say lightly. (At. All.) I was invited to stay by the hotel, a couple of weeks ago to check out their huge refurbishment which has recently seen the hotel restored to it’s fine glory. And to also check out their new restaurant and shiny craft ale and cocktails bar (a perfect pairing for the husband and I.)

AFTERNOON TEA AT BETTYS WITH MY MUM

I ENJOYED an incredible afternoon tea at Bettys the other week. On a cold yet beautiful winter’s Day, I travelled to the historic city of York with my lovely Mum and we experienced the most delicious champagne afternoon tea, as Bettys‘ guests. Quite frankly, if there’s a finer way to spend a few precious hours with your Mum, well I’d be amazed because this really was quite something. I often talk

A MAGICAL, WINTERY EVENING AT DISNEY ON ICE

IT all started with a dress. This dress. A special Frozen dress (which lights up and has a magical brooch and everything!) Yep, Elsie would go to…Disney On Ice Presents World Of Enchantment, courtesy of the kind people at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena who invited me, Elsie and two guests (my sister Sal and niece Ella) as their VIPs on the front row. A reminder, if ever there was one, that

A STAY AT THE GREAT VICTORIA HOTEL, BRADFORD

A NIGHT alone? In a hotel? Without little Elsie? Well that’s something of a rare treat for the husband and I, so we were thrilled to be invited to stay at the Great Victoria hotel in Bradford just last month. We had a smashing time. Relaxed lots. Ate lots. Drank lots. And even managed a bit of a lie in too. But enough about what we go up to (although I’ll

LIVING ‘LA DOLCE VITA’ AT A BOOKINGS FOR YOU VILLA

BEFORE we get cracking with today’s post, I just want to take a moment to say I’m sorry… That my blog posts have been a bit sporadic of late. I’m a poorly lady you see at the moment, having had flu for the last week or so, so bar on odd post, I’ve spent most of my time lying in bed or watching endless rounds of children’s TV with little
