29 WEEKS – A PREGNANCY UPDATE

TIME is continuing to whizz by quicker than I’m comfortable with! On Friday I had my anti D jab (something you need to have if your blood group is rhesus negative) and today marks the first day of my 29th week.

Crikey!

My excitement is really beginning to build now (as are the nerves!) so here’s my second little update. Please keep growing little precious one, we cannot wait to meet you!

How far along:  29 weeks. Baby is now the size of a butternut squash (apparently!) The midwife measured my bump last week for the first time and it’s measuring spot on for dates.

Days until due date: 77!

Weight change:  No idea as I never weigh myself but I’m definitely getting bigger. (And let’s just say my boobs could definitely do with some new larger bras!)

Stretchmarks?  None as of yet. I’ve been massaging in the wonderful Neal’s Yard Mama Balm (one of my favourite ever pregnancy products) almost daily and have also just started to use the brilliant Secret Saviours Anti Stretchmark kit which comes with two gels and a very special bump brand.

Cravings?  Well I’m still heavily into my oranges but thankfully my red wine craving has disappeared! No other cravings but I could certainly eat for England at the moment and to be fair, probably am most days.

Symptoms?  Just a little back pain and some round ligament pain across the tummy area, which is to be expected. Bar a cold (which I can’t blame on the baby!) I’m feeling really good and counting my lucky stars!

Sleep?  Not too bad although my nightly visits to the loo have increased now, so that combined with early morning get ups, is making this mama a little tired.

Movement?  Baby boy is continuing to be super active and still responding to little rubs, music and his Daddy’s touch. His most active time at the moment is about 9.30pm at night, just as I’m settling down to relax or go to bed. Typical huh?

Belly button – in or out?  Out!

Wedding rings – on or off?  Still on at the moment which makes me happy.

Best moment this week?  Most definitely my bump photoshoot yesterday with the lovely Masque Photography which involved me lying in a bath full of milk and flowers for a good hour or so! Absolutely bonkers but lots of fun. I’m so excited to see the final photographs.

Best style moment this week?  It’s all about the capes at the moment! Now the weather has turned I’m so grateful to have a warm coat to wear that actually covers the bump.

Worst moment this week?  Nothing that really stands out but my hormones are all over the place at the and I’m still very weepy and emotional.

Miss anything?  Nope, although admittedly a lie in would be nice!

Looking forward to?  Finishing off the nursery. The husband was up in the loft last weekend to bring down some of our baby stuff from when we had Elsie, so it’s now all systems go.

I didn’t have Elsie’s nursery finished before she was born as we were in the midst of moving house at the time (wouldn’t advise that to anyone with a baby on the way!) so I’m determined to get the boy’s room all sorted and am so looking forward to decorating it. At the moment it’s looking like a toss up between a rainbow or woodland theme…

Mood?  I’m feeling pretty damn good at the moment and enjoying every minute. I’m feeling very blessed.

PSST! WANT TO READ MORE ABOUT MY PREGNANCY?

I’m delighted to be writing for the BabyCentre on a weekly basis. Last week I wrote about the importance of celebrating your own pregnancy (especially when people don’t help you to do so!) and you can catch all of my older posts here too.
