With just a few days to go before the big day, it’s safe to say that we’re beginning to feel rather festive in the Portman household.

I’ve always loved Christmas, but this year I am ridiculously excited, as it’ll be Elsie’s first Christmas and our first as a family. All of which means it’s going to be extra special.

When it comes to Christmas decorations, in the past, the Husband and I have been pretty contemporary. But this year, because we’re now a family, we’ve gone down the more traditional route instead.

I’ve decked the house out in festive, traditional colours like red, silver and green and this weekend I’ll be busy wrestling with some greenery in the garden as I’ll be using our ivy and holly to decorate the table for Christmas Day.

I’ve even gone ‘vintage’ with the ol’ giftwrap. Presents have been wrapped in classic brown paper and decorated with patterned sticky tape, various ribbons and handmade tags.
