I’M beginning to think that style posts on my blog are like buses.

You wait ages for one to appear then two come along in quick succession! ;-)

Anyhow, I couldn’t help but share this outfit with you. An outfit for a glorious wedding on a glorious hot summer’s day. A fusion of East and West as a beautiful Indian princess (Jazz) married her handsome British groom (James).

As the wedding was Indian / English, I opted for colour and plenty of sparkle, eventually setting on this ultra feminine pleated dress from Coast that I purchased a couple of years ago in the sale. I clipped vintage diamante brooches to the shoulders too to add an extra little something.

And I have to say if I was asked to pick a favourite colour, this delicate lavender blue / purple would most definitely be it. It’s just so pretty.

In my ears I wore a pair of sparkling yellow crystal chandelier earrings that I purchased a few months ago from the most incredible Asian store in Bradford for a mere £5, and which matched my yellow neon nails perfectly!

While my heels for the day were sentimental and all round glorious. They were my own designer wedding shoes that – bar this occasion – I have only worn once since (on honeymoon in New York).

Created by Jane Smith, a British shoe designer who is sadly no longer designing, they are made from the softest Italian silver nappa leather and feature the most incredible diamante detail on the front and heel.

I carried a small vintage sequinned clutch, again last used on my wedding day, and a larger pretty Indian inspired shopper to carry all of Elsie’s many bits and bobs.

Finally, on my hands, besides my wedding rings and ‘push’ sapphire ring, I also wore the most divine henna pattern, created for me at Jazz’ mendhi party a few days earlier. My first henna design, it’s safe to say it definitely won’t be my last!

I went ‘wild’ on the day and opted for two outfits, changing in the evening into something much comfier. With Bhangra dancers due to appear, there was no way I was missing out on all the fun and being dance restricted by a frock, no, no, no!

Here I am below – with my husband, mother in law and sister in law – in my white sequin French Connection number. I have lost count of the times I have worn this dress and yet again, it served me well. Easy to wear and covered in sequins, what’s not to love right?

Finally, I wouldn’t be a good blogger if I didn’t share with you just a few snapshots of the incredibly lovely day. As I think you will tell from the pics, it really was a wedding to remember.
