I TOOK Elsie to Yorkshire Sculpture Park a week or so ago.

It was the perfect place for her to scamp about, run amok and ‘break in’ her amazing new boots.

Her ‘Hattie’ monkey boots from Young Soles that are made from the softest navy leather and feature the most stunning contrasting Liberty print shoelaces.

I have to say when these luxury boots arrived for Elsie, I couldn’t stop touching the leather or looking at them. Even my husband ooo’ed and aah’ed over them, a testiment to their gorgeousness, if ever I’ve heard of one!

Truly I wish they did them in adult sizes too because they are beyond gorgeous.

Elsie rather likes shoes – it has to be said (!) – however, she adores these boots, even once refusing to take them off at bedtime! (We had to have words about that one.)

The boots suit her to an absolute ‘T’. When she wears them, I get the impression she thinks she’s invincible as she bounds about, a super whirlwind of energy.

If you’re after beautiful, luxury, retro-inspired shoes that will last and that you and your child will love, you need to take a peek at the Young Soles collection.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a gorgeous selection of footwear for little people (even in my days as an Editor of a footwear magazine!)

They remind me of the kind of shoes I used to love wearing as a child and the quality is beyond anything I’ve come across on the high street.

Are they pricier? Well yes they are.

However, please don’t let that put you off. These shoes are built to last, to be worn and to be loved.

My only warning to you, is that once you have seen the Young Soles collection, all other shoes for little people, will pale in comparison!

(And if you haven’t visited Yorkshire Sculpture Park yet, do! I know we’re spoilt because it’s only a ten minute drive from where we live but it really is a special place, that any age will love. They even have trees with ‘jewels’ on… ;-))
