A FEW weeks ago, I had the absolute privilege of having my hair cut by one of the UK’s top hairdressers…

The very lovely and amusing Alexander Turnbull who’s won numerous British hairdressing awards including North Eastern Hairdresser of The Year and British Best Newcomer Of The Year.

I was invited by Matrix Haircare (part of the L’Oreal group) to have my hair cut, pampered and styled by Alexander using their brilliant Total Results hair products, so I could achieve #TotalHairConfidence.

A rare and bloomin’ marvellous treat, let’s face it, for any frazzled (or make that plain ol’ exhausted) Mum!

So early on a Saturday morning, as people slept in their cosy beds, I was hotfooting it to Anlaby, near Hull to the Alexander Hair & Beauty Salon.

After a pretty easy drive (bar the SatNav going wappy and popping me on the Humber Bridge unexpectedly!) I arrived at the busy salon and was warmly welcomed, given a much needed cuppa (in a large mug  – my kind of salon!) and introduced to Alexander, before undergoing a quick consultation with the cutting wizard himself about my ‘new do’.

After having my hair cut short about a year ago, I was keen not to go much shorter so it was decided that Alexander would soften the cut and add some much needed ‘oomph’ using the Total Results High Amplify collection.

A must when you’ve got fine hair (but lots of it, as I’m always told!) like me.

And then we got cracking!

I was treated to the loveliest hair wash and head massage, a shattered Mum could ask for. (I’d been up most of the night with a poorly Elsie).

And then popped in the chair, for Alexander to work his magic.

Which he did!

Using the quickest and fanciest scissor action I have ever seen, Alexander created a hair cut that I absolutely love, talking me through everything and sharing some top tips.

Whilst we nattered and laughed through the process.

And here -da,da,daa! -is it how it looked completely finished and styled with a wave.

I absolutely adore my new ‘do’, it’s easy to style and makes me feel fabulous and I’m also thrilled with the Matrix range of products I was kindly given to style my new barnet with! (Which I have to say are all really impressive. Got fine hair like me? Give them a whirl!)

Total hair confidence?!
