A new dawn, a new blog…

THOSE of you who know me already will know that I’m partial to sharing a few words and opinions, but for those of you who don’t, here’s who I am and what I intend to do with this new blog of mine…

To keep it short and sweet, my name is Katie and I’m a freelancer. From the title you’ve probably already guessed that I love high heels (which is true) and pouting (which is kind of true, but not in a serious way I promise).

I have a fondness for large earrings too ;-)

Like most ladies, I love stylish and beautiful things. I also love words and hearing people’s stories.

I’ve been doing some regular blogging for a while over at katieportman.com, starting way back in the Summer of 2010 when I joined the fabulous world of the self-employed.

However, what started as a pretty general blog naturally evolved into a place where I continued to share my thoughts about freelancing and professional stuff and it soon became clear that blogging about women’s issues or shoes no longer fitted in, which is why I’ve ended up here!

Well I did say I love my heels…

From fashion to feminism, relationship stuff to life’s dilemmas, I promise I’ll do my best to keep things entertaining and classy.

As a first time mum-to-be, I’ll also no doubt be sharing some of my pregnancy trials and tribulations and talking a little about impending motherhood, because a) It’s so exciting b) I’m terrified and c) nobody told me it could be so hard!

You may not like everything I write or share in the future – and why should you? we’re all different after all – but if you do fancy popping by every now and then to have a gander, that would be really rather lovely and much appreciated. Otherwise, I’ll just be writing for myself, which is fine but not quite the same ;-)

Till the next time.

Katie

  • What a great opening post.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

I too love high heels. Don’t listen to anyone who says you shouldn’t wear them in pregnancy. It’s about the closest you can get to glamour some days.

Best of luck with the new blog,

    • Catherine – thank you so much for a) stopping by to have a gander and b) for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment!

It’s really refreshing to actually hear someone say, you can wear heels in pregnancy so
      thank you for that!

And have no fret, my high heels will STILL be coming out!

  • Great blog Katie! Pregnancy and motherhood will give you plenty to talk about.

I will keep popping by to have a read and find out how things are going. Let’s see how many weeks into bumpdom we keep the heels on!

    Much love and luck
