A BIT OF ‘ALL WHITE’ IN ITALY

WS LEAD

AFTER a fabulous week away living ‘La Dolce Vita’, I’m back in blighty and just about getting back to reality! How the devil are you all?!

It feels a little silly writing this post today, as I sit huddled by the fire, with my woolies on (!), but seeing as we all need some sunshine, I thought I’d share a very ‘summery’ style post. (Think of it as my little dedication to the sunny days to come!)

The weather in Italy last week was incredible. Bar one wet day, we were blessed with gorgeous sunshine.

Which was lucky for me because I got to give this incredible white suit an outing, in the beautiful and historic town of Assisi.

The suit, which was kindly gifted to me by the team at Precis, was an absolute dream to wear in terms of comfort, and amazingly, even travelled well!

I was a little worried that folded up in a suitcase, it might end up creased to high heaven, but astonishingly, it was practically crease free when we landed at our Italian home for the week. My kind of holiday clothing! *winks*

This classic yet modern suit – which made me feel very glamorous and all ‘Bianca Jagger-esque’ – is part of the new Style Edit, a directional and versatile edit of the Jacques Vert Group SS16 collections, specially curated by celebrity stylist Sasha Barrie.

Unlike previous campaigns, the Style Edit is focusing on a much younger audience, offering contemporary clean lines and muted, wearable tones and as part of the ‘edit’, I have to say the suit ticked all of these boxes nicely.

The suit, featuring cropped trousers and a fitted blazer, fitted like an absolute dream and although wearing a white suit with a three year old around was a bit of a challenge (!), I really loved this relaxed yet tailored look, ideal for the warmer months.

As we were ‘out and about’ sight seeing, I took my new trusty best friend of a handbag with me too, the fabulous Willow Weekender Tote from CRU London.

The ‘Willow’ was created as the ideal overnight bag and having used it to stay in Rome for a night last week, I can absolutely confirm that it is entirely possible to get all your essentials in here! (You know – PJS, clean pants, make up etc)

I used it as my hand luggage for the flight – again, it was ideal for this! – squeezing in nicely under the seat in front when the overhead luggage compartments were full of cases! And I used it most days on our travels too.

It’s a stunning handmade bag, a CRU classic and one I’m very happy to have in my possession because I know I’m going to use this for years! Perhaps even forever, who knows!

I teamed the suit with a navy tee from Boden, a vintage silk scarf that I picked up years ago for just ‘ten bob’ and a pair of my favourite block heels. And of course, being in Italy, a large pair of vintage inspired shades too. The bigger the better right?!

Although admittedly the pristine white suit is pretty tricky to keep clean (it’s safe to say I avoided red wine and spaghetti on our travels!) I’m so looking forward to wearing it much more this year.

If only our bloomin’ weather would book it’s ideas up ey? Mama mia!

What do you think of my white suit? Do you reckon I’m ‘fashion brave’ or bonkers?!

With love,

Kate
